Konichiwaaa! So what is the first thing that comes to your mind when someone says ‘Japan’. Sushi? Kimonos?… Saké?
Thinking about it, Saké should rally come first.
For those of you who have no idea of what Saké is, don’t worry! That’s why Japanese National Night is here! You will hear and say the word Saké so many times during the night that next day when you get up in the morning, it’s the only thing you will remember!
Jokes aside, Japanese National Night also known as JNN, is not just about Saké and all that jazz. There is a lot more to the night – action packed Japanese performances, along with some delicious Japanese food; you will be welcomed by a team of beautiful/handsome girls/guys in kimonos and when you enter the dining hall you will transport to Japan in a jiffy with the wonderful Japanese deco. The night is all about the Japanese culture and we will do our best to bring Japan to IH. Our emcees for the night will enlighten you with some Japanese facts and possibly figures that you might not even be aware of but that are very much heard of and practiced in Japan. Our aim is that after the night, when you get out of the dining hall, we want you to know “all that one can know” about Japan.
And of course, the part everyone has been asking me about, yup! There is going to be an after party, hooorrraayy! We are going to funk it up with some Japanese grooves and some very interesting drinks (#wassabishots)!
That’s a lot of Japanese culture for one one article, so I am going to end it here now! That was a short summary of what the night is going to be. If you want to be a part of it by performing, or by helping with deco, set up, waiting, clean up or wash up shoot a message to me or one of the committee members and we will get in touch with you ASAP! It will be a great way to show off something you are good at or experience something different, be a part of an exciting team and at the same time get some well-deserved room points! Or if you want to sit back and enjoy the show come and join us on the 12th of September at 6:45 pm in the dining hall in one of your Japanese costumes – this is your chance to get that kimono out!
The JNN committee promises you that we will do our best to make it a fun and joyful night for all of you wonderful souls! Arigatooo guys! See there!
